Allergens and allergen management
Allergens are substances that can trigger allergic reactions in sensitive individuals. Pollen from plants in the air can also be allergens. In the food and pharmaceutical industries, allergens include proteins and enzymes. In the chemical industry, allergens include certain plasticisers and metal compounds.
If allergens and non-allergens are processed in the same plant, all employees must be explicitly trained. There is no tolerance in the management of allergens and non-allergens. Even the smallest traces can affect people with allergies.
In this respect, the entire plant must be considered in terms of ‘wet cleaning’ or ‘damp cleaning’; dry cleaning is not sufficient.
The area around the mixing plant must also be considered:
- feeding devices, pipework, automatic scales,
- filter housings, filter media. (Only metallic surface filters can be wet-cleaned, unlike depth filters).
- Inlet nozzles
- aspiration lines
- static seals
- shaft seals
- discharge fittings
- supply lines
- measuring probes and sensors
- ...
- but also cleaning aids such as brushes, scrapers, brooms, scrapers, dust brushes, ...
The suppliers of various mixers refer to different automatic, semi-automatic or manual cleaning methods. Amixon can also offer cleaning methods and train personnel.
Amixon also offers the ‘WaterDragon’ system. The WaterDragon works particularly quickly and thoroughly. It can clean the mixer fully automatically, both wet and dry, thoroughly and extremely quickly.
